Stakeholder Theory
Edward Freeman (1984) established Stakeholder Theory in the 19th century, which emphasizes ethics and values in organization management. Stakeholder Theory is a perspective of capitalism that emphasizes the interdependent interactions between a firm and its stakeholders, including its consumers, suppliers, employees, investors, and communities. The Stakeholder Theory is applied to this research, which examines travelers' opinions on both the tangible (destination appeal and tourism infrastructure) and the intangible (service quality and destination image) aspects that contribute to the growth of rural tourism destination marketing. The identified variables are relevant for the development of tourism destination marketing initiatives aimed at increasing destination competitiveness.
